New episodes due to air on July 30, Adult Swim has been teasing YouTube with promo videos and we are totally hooked on this Sc-Fi EPIC!
Many have theorised on how Rick and Morty will eventually end and we may have just stumbled upon another great theory!
To be honest, you should skip the reading and just watch the video as it is masterfully written Sci-Fi by one of television's brightest, most literate pioneers and a true believer in the medium, Rod Serling was known as the "angry young man."
From 26minutes in and onwards you will find a perfect ending to Rick & Morty.
Watch at 32minutes for the theory in a minute.
This is where things get deep. real deep. If you're just looking for an easy-to-watch show then Rick and Morty is the place to go. However, the creators have allowed viewers to create an alternate reality, one where they are watching from a warped perspective.
(Image: Morty clearly sees the robotic version... whilst you cannot see most of the face, there's clearly an expression of anger, shock and disgust. You may also notice how quickly Rick want's him out of the room, placing a firm grip and shoving through the door).
The 1963 Sc-Fi Show premiered with an hour long special, even if the 10 minutes segment does not convince hardcore theorists, I assure you, the twilight show is a great find!
The twilight zone is often used as inspiration for a multitude of film, music and creative industries.
(There are many versions of Rick, created by Rick, the Rickist Rick? Errr. well. Rick created versions of himself aware of this IS Morty who is Ricks experiment who is actually RICK!... forget it. Prepare to have your mind blown!)

Main story -
Meat of the theory:
In a pursuit to create perfect Artificial intelligence rich employs a team of the best scientists (bird/phoenix-person maybe involved??). As a pioneer in the field, there were issues in replicating the mapping of the neural networks within the brain. Time elapses and Ricks team starts to leave the project. As we know, what follows rick is depression, alcoholism and a person in great pain.
Rick continues - he rushes the through the project and discovers a way to install his own talents, skills, intellect etc into clones of himself. However, this clones only posses fragments of Rick and therefor by default our rick is the rickist rick.
Due to the complexity and rick using fragments of his own memories, talents, knowledge into creating this 'ideal' workforce; many attempts fail and we have the likes of Doofus. Eventually rick is able to create the perfect team and is intent on improving the A.I.
The project changes direction and the aim is now to create the perfect A.I, a human hybrid. Coincidence? in the Twilight zone, when confronted by himself, the main protagonist reveals how it was HE - who gave birth to the AI - In the r&m s03eo1 we notice R present at M's birth.
The original story is about a alcoholic scientist who is intent on creating a better version of himself. The tittle is named, 'In His Image.' A clear reference to GOD and a main theme in R&M. The protagonist admits that he made many copies that failed, and the ultimate goal was to remove his perceived flaws, from being kinder, finding love, having a child?
Considering how Rod Serling (The Writer of Twilight Zone and a legend!) writing is often used in major films and TV productions if you are unaware of this show be thankful for today. (I rarely watch TV however, the Twilight zone is pure gold and creative reparation. I can only imagine how this would have blown 1960's minds.)
Other Notes:
Rick hates doofus rick, buut, if this really is the inspiration behind the evolving story, rick created doofus intentionally/ or unintentionally, to further help the Rickest Rick become a better person or Rick.. in ricks twisted way.
Rick fools the AI through false memories, schools, towns, relationships - etc perfectly tying in with season 3 episode 1. The finale is a confrontation. One A.I hybrid learns the truth (the mortist Morty)... This one is "insane," a glitch, a "lucky coincidence."
